The above screenshot shows how does the
Trading/Hedging calculator look (back first section).
Data is entered into the following cells: commission,
back odds, stake. The stake data can be selected using
the scroll button, it uses increments of £1. Then the
scroll button at the top is used to adjust the lay
odds (with increments of 0.01, or "tick"), and the scroll
buttons at the bottom are used to adjust the net profit
skew.
A few navigational points, as described in the
BETGEM Manual:
All sheets contain a home icon that is a
clickable link to the Home sheet where all the links to
all other parts of the document are. All tables contain
the Clear icon (red coloured X), it is clickable and
fires a macro that clears the relevant parts of the table
and prepares it for new data input. All data is entered
in the green coloured cells only.

This screenshot is the same as the previous one,
it shows how instead of the scroll button the keyboard
can be used to enter data in the stake cell. Keyboard is
the only option when the stake value is a number
with 1 or 2 decimal digits. For rounded values with
increments of £1 the scroll button is the more
convenient option.

This screenshot shows the same table with all
the colour formatting activated. Please note that any of
the above colour components can be selected or
deselected, this is done by ticking and unticking the
check boxes on the right. Each check box corresponds to 1
row of the table. Please note that the user can't select
his own colours, he can only switch on/off the predefined
colours.
The last row of the table-called Difference
(Back-Lay)-is highlighted only when both its checkbox is
ticked and the value of any cell is between -0.02 and
+0.02 (zero effectively). This means that any number of
cells can be highlighted and not necessarily the whole
row. This gives the user a visual aid when he wants to
equalize the profit between the 2 possible outcomes (just
click the 3 scroll buttons at the bottom of the table so
that adjusting of the desired result is achieved).
This process should take only a few clicks of the mouse,
as the 3 scroll buttons use different increments of
adjusting the values - £1, £0.1 and £0.01. Any profit
skewing is done by clicking the same buttons, fine tuning
to 1 pence can be achieved quickly.

The above screenshot shows the Lay First table
of the same sheet, it works in exactly the same way as
the Back First table described above, with corresponding
colours.

The screenshot above shows the use of one more
feature of the BETGEM - the quick odds feature. When the
relevant checkbox is ticked (see above), the table
changes to a single column one and odds have to be
entered manually in the red cell. This time the profit is
automatically equalized and no commission will be
deducted from the profit (the user will see the gross
profit). The feature was devised mostly for the exchange
games, as there the odds can move very dramatically in a
few seconds, therefore making the use of the odds scroll
button slow and impractical.

The above screenshots shows the same table as
the previous one, only this time the colour formatting
checkboxes are enabled. Please note that the row named
Difference (Back-Lay) will always have a value of 0.00
and if the relevant checkbox is ticked will always be
highlighted in light green.

The above screenshot shows the quick odds
feature again, only this time for the Lay First section
(and with colour formatting enabled).
